“Kudos to Col. (Ret) Mark “Snapper” Mattison and his first work”
The Dragon File. In our tumultuous real world, this is a great read that sucks you in and won’t let you stop because, like other authors before him, Col Mattison has spun a yarn that is as compelling as it is scary as a fictional work.
I am hopeful for a series of Quentin Grant tales and can’t wait to see what come next.—

The Author

-
Mark “SNapper” Mattison
Mark “SNapper” Mattison served as a US Air Force commander and F-16C fighter pilot for twenty-nine years, leading teams at the flight, squadron, and wing levels. Throughout his career, he piloted both US and Russian fighters, including the F-16C, MiG-29, SU-22, F-15C, and B-1B. He also gained extensive experience with military and intelligence organizations worldwide, including the CIA.
In third grade, he wrote his first masterpiece titled, “Won’t you be surprised when I play for the Kansas City Chiefs.” Although he played college football, he never played for the Chiefs – he remains a dedicated (rabid) fan.
Mark earned three master’s degrees and spent much of his graduate coursework daydreaming and writing stories. He served on the board of a nonprofit that fed the working poor and taught weekly personal finance classes in disadvantaged neighborhoods.
Drawing on a career spanning military service, government roles, and international assignments, and on living and working in multiple countries, he has gathered a multitude of stories to tell. He is the author of The Dragon File and the upcoming novels The Bear Trap and The King’s Venom.
